Qualifications
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education:
Diploma or vocational training in Mechanical, Construction, or a related technical field. - Certification Requirements:
- Lifting Supervision
- Rigging & Slinging
- Crane Safety
- (Optional but beneficial) First Aid & Occupational Health and Safety
- Work Experience:
Minimum 3 to 5 years in lifting and rigging operations. Priority will be given to those with experience in construction, oil & gas, mining, or heavy industrial sectors. - Skills Needed:
- Deep understanding of lifting procedures and safety regulations
- Ability to lead teams and coordinate tasks
- Effective communication using radio and hand signals
- Risk assessment and problem-solving skills
Key Responsibilities
As a Lifting Foreman, your duties will include:
- Planning and overseeing daily lifting operations
- Assigning crew tasks and ensuring compliance with safety protocols
- Inspecting lifting equipment and halting unsafe activities
- Collaborating with engineers, crane operators, and other departments
- Leading safety briefings and toolbox talks
- Recording daily activities and reporting incidents or equipment malfunctions
Work Location & Accommodation
- Worksite: Marine Storage Terminal Project, Chongoleani Ward, Tanga City
- DOCG provides camp accommodations and meals at the project site
- Use of company-provided accommodation is mandatory for selected candidates
