The Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in Indonesia is pleased to inform all government employees about fully funded scholarship opportunities available in Indonesia for the 2025/2026 academic year. These scholarships are offered under the Indonesia AID Scholarship (TIAS) program by the Government of Indonesia. Indonesia Government Scholarships for Tanzanians 2025/2026

This initiative aims to support the academic and professional development of Tanzanian public servants through higher education at Diploma, Bachelor’s, and Master’s levels.

Study Levels Available

Scholarships are available for the following levels of study:

  • Diploma Programs
  • Bachelor’s Degree Programs
  • Master’s Degree Programs

Scholarship Benefits

The scholarship offers full financial support, including:

  • Full tuition fees
  • Monthly living allowance
  • Comprehensive health insurance
  • Return airfare (Tanzania – Indonesia – Tanzania)
  • Indonesian language training
  • Research funding (for Master’s students)

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be a government employee from Mainland Tanzania or Zanzibar
  • Hold the required academic qualifications for the chosen level of study
  • Be in good health
  • Be willing to attend a language preparatory program before starting studies

All applications should be submitted through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation for official nomination.mDeadline for application submission: May 4, 2025, Make sure to prepare and submit all required documents before the deadline.

Background and Bilateral Support

This scholarship program is the result of strengthened diplomatic relations, following:

  • The State Visit by H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, to Indonesia in January 2024
  • Discussions held between President Dr. Hussein A. Mwinyi of Zanzibar and Mr. Tormarbulang L. Tobing of the Indonesian Aid Agency during the 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum in Bali, September 2024
  • These discussions led to an expansion of educational cooperation between the two countries.
