1. Senior Electrical Technician

Job Type: Full-Time (Regular)
Duty Station: Abdulrahman Al-Sumait University (SUMAIT) – Zanzibar
Number of Positions: One (1)
Reporting to: Estate Officer

Job Overview: The university is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Technician to handle the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems including generators, transformers, and high-voltage equipment.

Qualifications:

Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in higher learning institutions
Proven experience with high-voltage systems and safety protocols

Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily electrical tasks including installation and maintenance
Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical systems
Ensure safety and proper handling of tools and equipment

2. Academic Positions – Faculty of Science

Abdulrahman Al-Sumait University is expanding its Faculty of Science and is recruiting qualified candidates for academic posts in the following areas:

A. Cybersecurity – Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer

Number of Positions: Four (4)
Duty Station: SUMAIT – Zanzibar
Reporting to: Head of Department, Mathematics and Computer Science

Qualifications:

Lecturer: Ph.D. in Cybersecurity or related field. Master’s GPA ≥ 4.0, Bachelor’s GPA ≥ 3.5
Assistant Lecturer: Master’s in Cybersecurity or related field. GPA ≥ 4.0, Bachelor’s GPA ≥ 3.5

Requirements:

2–3 years of teaching experience
Proficiency in cybersecurity tools (e.g., Kali Linux, Wireshark, SIEM systems)
Research and publications in cybersecurity

B. Data Science – Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer

Number of Positions: Four (4)
Duty Station: SUMAIT – Zanzibar
Reporting to: Head of Department, Mathematics and Computer Science

Qualifications:

Lecturer: Ph.D. in Data Science or related field. Master’s GPA ≥ 4.0, Bachelor’s GPA ≥ 3.5
Assistant Lecturer: Master’s in Data Science or related field. GPA ≥ 4.0, Bachelor’s GPA ≥ 3.5

Requirements:

Expertise in programming languages (Java, Python, C++, JavaScript)
Research experience in computer science and related fields
