This unique opportunity places selected candidates in 2-year international assignments with UNDP offices across the globe, offering a powerful entry point into global development careers.

About the Programme

Launched in 2021, the UNDP Graduate Programme aims to build a diverse and skilled workforce by engaging early-career professionals in real-world development work. UNDP jobs for graduates, Assignments span across UNDP country, regional, or headquarters offices, supporting efforts aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Past cohorts:

  • Selected from tens of thousands of global applicants
  • Assigned to programme/policy or corporate operations streams
  • Gained hands-on exposure to UNDP’s global mission

Background & Job Description

Depending on the assigned stream, selected graduates will:

Programme & Policy Stream

  • Assist in designing and implementing development programmes and projects
  • Engage in strategic planning, monitoring, and policy work

Corporate Operations Stream

  • Support internal functions such as finance, HR, and oversight
  • Drive innovation, digital transformation, and systems thinking

Across both streams, graduates will collaborate with global teams and external partners to create tangible development impact.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field with ≤1 year of relevant work experience, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2–3 years of relevant work experience

Experience:

  • Demonstrated passion for international development, policy, or operations
  • Skills in digital innovation or systems-thinking
  • Willingness to live and work abroad for the full 2-year duration

  • Open to nationals of UNDP programme countries

Language Requirements

  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)

  • USA (New York), Thailand, Turkey, Samoa, Maldives, Jamaica
  • Laos, Switzerland, Timor Leste, Philippines, Papua New Guinea
  • Trinidad & Tobago and other Pacific Island nations
