Project Overview: Building Resilience in Kigoma
The project targets Kasulu, Kibondo, and Kakonko districts and focuses on:
- Enhancing community resilience to climate change
- Promoting sustainable land management
- Supporting conservation and reforestation efforts
- Implementing climate-smart agriculture techniques
Available Job Vacancies
1. Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer – Full-Time, Kigoma
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the M&E framework
- Conduct field visits and track progress
- Prepare reports and data for evaluations
- Collaborate with partners on knowledge sharing
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in M&E, Environmental Science, Project Management, etc.
- Minimum 5 years in monitoring and evaluation
- Strong data analysis, reporting, and communication skills
2. Safeguards and Gender Officer – Full-Time, Kigoma
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement the Gender Action Plan and safeguard measures
- Manage grievance redress mechanisms (GRM)
- Train project teams on SEAH (Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment) prevention
- Monitor and report on gender equality integration
Requirements:
- Degree in Gender Studies, Environmental or Social Sciences
- 5+ years in ESS and gender mainstreaming
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills
3. Land Use Planning, Climate-Smart Agriculture & Livelihood Expert – Full-Time, Kigoma
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support on CSA and land use
- Promote resilient farming practices and WUAs
- Link local agriculture to viable value chains
- Train local government and community stakeholders
Requirements:
- Master’s in Agriculture, Forestry, or Environmental Studies
- 5+ years in CSA and livelihood projects
- Experience with Tanzanian district-level planning
4. Social & Environment Safeguards Expert – Part-Time (30 days/year), Remote with Travel to Kigoma
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic ESS guidance
- Support the GRM and SEAH frameworks
- Lead safeguard training and monitoring
- Contribute to compliance and reporting
Requirements:
- Master’s in Environmental or Social Sciences
- 5+ years in ESS for international projects
- Familiarity with GCF, GEF, or similar donors
