Project Overview: Building Resilience in Kigoma

The project targets Kasulu, Kibondo, and Kakonko districts and focuses on:

  • Enhancing community resilience to climate change
  • Promoting sustainable land management
  • Supporting conservation and reforestation efforts
  • Implementing climate-smart agriculture techniques

Available Job Vacancies

1. Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer – Full-Time, Kigoma

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the M&E framework
  • Conduct field visits and track progress
  • Prepare reports and data for evaluations
  • Collaborate with partners on knowledge sharing

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in M&E, Environmental Science, Project Management, etc.
  • Minimum 5 years in monitoring and evaluation
  • Strong data analysis, reporting, and communication skills

2. Safeguards and Gender Officer – Full-Time, Kigoma

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the Gender Action Plan and safeguard measures
  • Manage grievance redress mechanisms (GRM)
  • Train project teams on SEAH (Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment) prevention
  • Monitor and report on gender equality integration

Requirements:

  • Degree in Gender Studies, Environmental or Social Sciences
  • 5+ years in ESS and gender mainstreaming
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills

3. Land Use Planning, Climate-Smart Agriculture & Livelihood Expert – Full-Time, Kigoma

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support on CSA and land use
  • Promote resilient farming practices and WUAs
  • Link local agriculture to viable value chains
  • Train local government and community stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Master’s in Agriculture, Forestry, or Environmental Studies
  • 5+ years in CSA and livelihood projects
  • Experience with Tanzanian district-level planning

4. Social & Environment Safeguards Expert – Part-Time (30 days/year), Remote with Travel to Kigoma

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic ESS guidance
  • Support the GRM and SEAH frameworks
  • Lead safeguard training and monitoring
  • Contribute to compliance and reporting

Requirements:

  • Master’s in Environmental or Social Sciences
  • 5+ years in ESS for international projects
  • Familiarity with GCF, GEF, or similar donors
