Position: Driver II (Dereva Daraja la II)
Number of Posts: 6
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety.
- Transport staff to various official assignments.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance and minor repairs.
- Distribute official documents as required.
- Maintain accurate trip records in a vehicle logbook.
- Clean and maintain the vehicle regularly.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by the employer.
Qualifications:
- Certificate of Secondary Education (Form IV).
- Valid Class E or C driving license.
- At least one year of driving experience with a clean record (no accidents).
- Must have completed a Basic Driving Course from VETA or another government-recognized institution.
- Candidates should be between 18 and 45 years old.

As per Government Salary Structure – TGS B

- Three reliable referees.
- For public servants applying for a different cadre, applications must be submitted through their current employer with proper endorsement.
- Certificates from outside Tanzania must be verified by TCU, NECTA, or NACTE.
Note: “Provisional Results”, “Statements of Results”, or result slips (Form IV & VI) will not be accepted.
Not Eligible to Apply:
- Retired public servants without written approval from the Chief Secretary.
- Public servants already in similar entry-level positions within the government system (as per Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated November 30, 2010).
