Position: Human Resource Officer
- Location: Head Office – Dar es Salaam
- Reports to: Human Resources and Administration (HRA) Manager
- Contract Duration: June – December 2025 (Renewable annually based on performance and funding)
Key Responsibilities
As a Human Resource Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting and enhancing the organization’s HR functions. Your main duties will include:
- Payroll & Compliance: Prepare monthly payroll, process statutory contributions, and ensure timely compliance.
- Leave & Attendance Management: Monitor staff leave, maintain attendance records, and generate monthly reports.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Lead hiring processes, conduct staff orientations, and coordinate training and development programs.
- Performance Management: Ensure job descriptions, performance tools, and annual evaluations are implemented effectively.
- Permits & Legal Documents: Manage work and residence permits for expatriate staff, including renewals and compliance with local laws.
- HR Systems & Records: Maintain and utilize HR software for efficient employee data management.
- Policy Development: Draft, update, and implement HR policies and procedures aligned with Tanzanian labor laws.
- Employee Relations: Address staff concerns, support disciplinary procedures, and manage internal communication.
- Budget Oversight: Monitor HR-related expenditures including salaries, benefits, and training expenses.
- Reporting: Prepare monthly HR reports, including staff movement and compliance updates.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ HR experience (NGO background is an added advantage).
- Proficiency in Tanzanian labor laws, HR practices, and payroll systems.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Fluency in both English and Swahili, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
