The Kinondoni Municipal Council is now inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill the position of Driver Class II, following an official approval for new recruitment under reference number FA.97/228/01/A/25 dated 29th April 2025 from the Permanent Secretary, President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance, Kinondoni Municipal Council Vacancies July 2025.
Position: Driver Class II (11 Vacancies)
Key Responsibilities
Successful applicants will be expected to perform the following duties:
- Inspect the vehicle before and after trips to ensure it’s roadworthy.
- Transport staff to various locations for official duties.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks.
- Collect and deliver official documents.
- Accurately record all trips in a logbook.
- Keep the vehicle clean at all times.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by a supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of Form IV (Ordinary Level Education) with a valid Form IV certificate.
- Must possess a valid Class ‘E’ or ‘C’ driver’s license.
- At least one year of driving experience without causing accidents.
- Must have completed Basic Driving Course from VETA or any other government-recognized institution.
- Must provide valid training certificates for the license classes held.
Salary Scale
- The salary will be based on TGS B, in line with the government pay scale.
General Application Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a Tanzanian citizen, aged between 18 and 45 years.

- Include a detailed CV with current contact information and three reliable referees.
- Attach certified academic and professional certificates including:
- Form IV/Form VI Certificates.
- Certificates from relevant professional boards.
- Driving course certificate.
- Computer literacy certificates (if available).
- Result slips, testimonials, and provisional results will NOT be accepted.
- Applicants who studied abroad must ensure their certificates are verified by TCU, NECTA, or NACTVET.
- Retired public servants are not eligible, unless they have clearance from the Chief Secretary.
- Driving license holders must attach proof of driver training for the respective class.
- Public servants currently employed in entry-level roles are not eligible and must follow the guidelines in Circular No. CAC. 45/257/01/D/140 dated 30 November 2010.
- Falsification of information or forged documents will lead to legal action.
- Candidates with inconsistent names across documents must provide a registered Deed Poll.
- All applications must be submitted by 17th July 2025.
