Position: Health Volunteer – Medical Doctor

Your Role & Responsibilities

As a Health Volunteer – Medical Doctor, you’ll play a vital role in early disability detection and primary healthcare delivery. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting examinations and treating patients in outpatient and inpatient departments
  • Running regular clinics and screening sessions
  • Admitting patients and preparing operation lists
  • Updating senior medical staff on patient progress and discharge plans
  • Assisting with minor surgical procedures and supporting senior surgeons in major surgeries
  • Participating in outreach medical activities
  • Working flexible shifts, including nights and weekends, as part of an on-call rotation

This role offers an excellent opportunity for hands-on clinical experience, learning, and professional growth.

What We’re Looking For

To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) from a recognized institution
  • Minimum GPA of 2.7 and completion of a one-year internship
  • At least 1 year of post-intern experience in a reputable medical institution
  • Registered with the Tanganyika Medical Council and holding a valid 2024 practitioner license
  • Computer literate and comfortable with modern medical systems
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Swahili
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and eager to contribute
