Your Role & Responsibilities
As a Health Volunteer – Medical Doctor, you’ll play a vital role in early disability detection and primary healthcare delivery. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting examinations and treating patients in outpatient and inpatient departments
- Running regular clinics and screening sessions
- Admitting patients and preparing operation lists
- Updating senior medical staff on patient progress and discharge plans
- Assisting with minor surgical procedures and supporting senior surgeons in major surgeries
- Participating in outreach medical activities
- Working flexible shifts, including nights and weekends, as part of an on-call rotation
This role offers an excellent opportunity for hands-on clinical experience, learning, and professional growth.
What We’re Looking For
To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) from a recognized institution
- Minimum GPA of 2.7 and completion of a one-year internship
- At least 1 year of post-intern experience in a reputable medical institution
- Registered with the Tanganyika Medical Council and holding a valid 2024 practitioner license
- Computer literate and comfortable with modern medical systems
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Swahili
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Highly motivated, proactive, and eager to contribute
