Are you passionate about youth empowerment and data-driven impact? Do you want to contribute to a future where every adolescent in Tanzania has access to quality sexual and reproductive health services? Restless Development is seeking a dynamic Project Consultant to lead the creation of game-changing toolkits under the KIJANA IMARA Project—and you could be the change-maker we’re looking for.
About Restless Development
Restless Development is a global nonprofit agency driven by one bold belief: young people have the power to change the world. With independent offices in nine countries—including Tanzania, India, Uganda, and the UK—we run youth-led programs focused on the issues that matter most to young people.
From sexual and reproductive health to climate justice, our initiatives are rooted in youth leadership, local knowledge, and sustainable solutions. We also lead the Youth Collective, a global network of over 5,000 youth-led organizations in 185 countries, creating a ripple effect of change across communities worldwide.
Our work is guided by:
- Restless Development Strategy
- Youth Collective Network
- Power Shifting Checklist
- We Are Restless Blog
- Safeguarding Policy
At the heart of it all is our uncompromising commitment to safeguarding—ensuring the welfare of every young person and vulnerable adult we serve takes precedence over everything else.
About the KIJANA IMARA Project
The KIJANA IMARA Project—a collaboration between UNFPA Tanzania and Restless Development—is a national initiative aimed at transforming access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services for adolescents in Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar. The project places special emphasis on adolescent girls and boys, ensuring inclusive, gender-equitable healthcare and education.
A cornerstone of the initiative is ADODA (Adolescent Data)—an innovative component focused on generating, analyzing, and applying disaggregated data to better understand and meet young people’s needs.
Despite having robust national datasets like:
- Population and Housing Census 2022
- Tanzania Demographic and Health Survey (TDHS) 2022
- Tanzania HIV Impact Survey (THIS 2022–2023)
…there is still a critical gap in how this data is being used to influence adolescent programming, particularly around engaging adolescent boys, promoting positive masculinities, and fostering gender-transformative solutions.
Consultant Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Project Consultant to design, develop, validate, and deliver the ADODA Toolkits—evidence-based resources that will help national and subnational actors make data-informed, youth-centered, and gender-responsive decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret existing national data sources
- Develop user-friendly toolkits for evidence mapping and advocacy
- Facilitate stakeholder consultations and validation workshops
- Build local capacity for data-driven adolescent SRHR programming
These toolkits will be instrumental in:
- Highlighting adolescent SRHR needs through data
- Empowering youth-led advocacy
- Supporting strategic planning and policy development
Who Should Apply?
We welcome individual consultants or consulting firms with a proven track record in:
- SRHR programming and gender equity
- Data analysis and policy development
- Toolkit or guide creation
- Stakeholder engagement and capacity building
Application Guidelines
Deadline: 22nd July 2025
To apply, please submit:
- A cover letter and CV (or company profile)
- A technical proposal (detailing your approach and work plan)
- A financial proposal (inclusive of all taxes and logistics)
- Two samples of similar work (toolkits, policy guides, etc.)
