About the SAMIA Scholarship Extended DS/AI+ Program
The SAMIA Scholarship Extended DS/AI+ is a prestigious, 100% government-funded initiative designed to empower Tanzanian students to pursue world-class education in cutting-edge fields such as:

Undergraduate Scholarship Details
Who Can Apply?
This scholarship is open to Form Six graduates (2025) who meet the following criteria:
- Must be a Tanzanian citizen
- Have excelled in national exams conducted by NECTA in the combinations PCM, PGM, or PMC
- Must be listed on the official websites of the Ministry of Education, COSTECH, or Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST)

Master’s Scholarship Details
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the master’s level scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a Tanzanian citizen
- Be under 35 years of age
- Have been admitted to pursue a master’s program at NM-AIST or IIT Madras – Zanzibar Campus
- Have a GPA of 3.8 or higher in their undergraduate degree
Scholarship Coverage
This postgraduate scholarship provides funding for up to 2 years and includes:
- Tuition fees
- Registration and course fees
- Research costs (as per university guidelines)
- Living allowance
- Health insurance

Scholarship Terms and Conditions
All beneficiaries must comply with the following:
- Sign a formal agreement with the Ministry of Education

- May not switch programs without official permission
- Must not defer studies unless for verified medical or social reasons
- Withdrawal before studies begin must be communicated in writing to:
