Job Title: Driver (3 Positions – STC + Pool)

Reports to: Logistics Supervisor
Contract Duration: 3 Months
Location: Dar es Salaam
Job Type: Full-Time
Eligibility: For National Staff Only

Job Overview:

MSF is looking for experienced, dedicated, and safety-conscious drivers to operate project vehicles and ensure the smooth and secure transportation of people and goods. The position also involves coordinating movements in line with security protocols and traffic laws.

Requirements:

Education & License:

  • Basic literacy
  • Valid Class D driving license (mandatory)

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of driving experience (essential)
  • Experience with 4×4 vehicles and NGOs, particularly MSF, is highly desirable

Languages:

  • Fluency in English and Swahili (spoken and written)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily and weekly vehicle checks (tires, oil, brakes, etc.) and maintain cleanliness
  • Drive passengers safely, respecting traffic laws and MSF security rules
  • Ensure passengers have necessary documents; non-MSF staff must sign disclaimers
  • Manage proper loading/unloading of goods with complete documentation
  • Keep all vehicle and license documents valid and accessible
  • Report incidents involving people or goods promptly
  • Operate radio communications following MSF policy
  • Adhere to and enforce MSF vehicle security protocols

Job Title: Radio Operator (1 Position – STC)

Reports to: Logistics Supervisor

Job Overview:

MSF seeks a reliable and detail-oriented Radio Operator to manage HF and VHF communications and ensure effective information flow across operations, in line with the organization’s security and communication standards.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Literacy required; secondary education is a bonus

Experience:

  • Experience as a Radio Operator is desirable

Languages:

  • Fluency in English and Swahili (spoken and written)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate HF/VHF radios securely, avoiding sensitive information
  • Log and relay messages accurately
  • Track team, vehicle, and cargo movements; update on any delays
  • Manage and maintain radio handsets and mobile phones assigned to radio room
  • Ensure proper operation of radio equipment, generators, and communication devices
  • Provide basic radio training to MSF staff when needed
  • Work closely with the Head Driver for vehicle dispatch coordination
  • Respond to power issues during nights/weekends by switching generators and reporting failures
