Job Overview
As the Accountant at Wanahewa SACCOS Ltd, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and transparency of the organization. Your responsibilities will include maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, ensuring regulatory compliance, and offering strategic financial advice to the Board and members.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations of the SACCOS
- Prepare and present accurate financial statements and reports
- Ensure compliance with statutory financial regulations
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and audits
- Support the board with financial planning and decision-making
- Maintain up-to-date records using accounting software
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum: Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience: At least 3 years in a similar role, preferably within a SACCOS or cooperative setting
- Strong grasp of accounting principles and financial regulations
- Excellent computer and accounting software proficiency
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is a distinct advantage
