SOS Children’s Villages Vacancies July 2025

Do you believe every child deserves to be heard, protected, and respected? Are you passionate about resolving conflicts, upholding children’s rights, and fostering safe environments for young people? If so, the Ombuds Office for SOS Children’s Villages is looking for someone like you.

We are currently hiring a National Ombuds for Tanzania and Zanzibar—a trusted, independent professional who supports children and young people when their concerns have not been addressed through existing safeguarding processes. This is more than just a job—it’s a chance to be part of a global movement dedicated to child protection and empowerment.

What is the Ombuds Office?

The Ombuds Office is an independent, impartial, and confidential service for children and young people associated with SOS Children’s Villages. It offers a safe space for those who feel their voices haven’t been heard through traditional safeguarding channels.

An Ombuds is a neutral figure—someone children can trust, who listens without judgment, supports without bias, and guides them through fair processes. Operating at national, regional, and global levels, Ombuds uphold four key principles:

  • Confidentiality
  • Impartiality
  • Independence
  • Informality

The Ombuds is not part of SOS Children’s Villages’ direct operations, which ensures transparency, trust, and neutrality in resolving concerns.
