Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (with possible travel to field offices)
Contract Type: 6-Month Fixed-Term, Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Stipend: Daily Allowance Provided

About the Internship Role

As an Administrative Support Intern, you’ll play a critical role in the daily operations of our Dar es Salaam office. From managing front desk activities to supporting procurement processes, your contributions will ensure the smooth running of our programs and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome guests and manage front desk operations professionally.
  • Respond to phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries efficiently.
  • Manage travel bookings, logistics, and meeting arrangements.
  • Organize procurement documents and assist in sourcing vendor bids.
  • Track orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Maintain inventory records and support supply chain management.
  • Provide logistical support during workshops, meetings, and events.
  • Help coordinate the Country Director’s calendar and follow-up tasks.
  • Uphold WaterAid’s values, including equity, inclusion, and safeguarding.

What You Need to Succeed

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Management, Secretarial Studies, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of procurement and logistics is an advantage.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
