Position: Enumerator (17 Posts)

Department: Research
Reports to: Research Manager
Duration: Short-Term (August 2025)

Job Summary

As an Enumerator, you will be an essential part of MST’s research initiatives. Under the supervision of the Research Manager, you will conduct field data collection through structured interviews, helping gather critical information to guide and enhance MST’s services. This role is ideal for individuals experienced in research, passionate about community health, and willing to travel and work in various regions across Tanzania.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend and participate in pre-assignment training sessions
  • Fully understand and follow the study’s operations manual
  • Obtain informed consent from study participants
  • Conduct structured quantitative interviews at selected sites
  • Accurately record and submit data using provided tablets
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and privacy of all collected information
  • Report challenges and field updates to the Research Manager
  • Collect participant feedback when required
  • Support additional tasks as assigned by the Research Manager

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma or higher qualification in social sciences, health sciences, or related fields
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in field data collection, particularly in healthcare or social research
  • Proficient in using digital tools (e.g., tablets) for data collection
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable discussing sexual, reproductive, and child health topics
  • Previous experience working with marginalized or vulnerable communities
  • Willingness to travel extensively, including to remote areas within Tanzania
