Survival Hospital is inviting applications from qualified, self-motivated professionals to fill the following positions:
1. Medical Doctor (MD) – 5 Positions
Reporting to: Medical Director
Duty Station: Survival Hospital, Kyerwa
Position Summary:
Medical Doctors will provide comprehensive medical care, ensuring accurate diagnosis, treatment, and preventive healthcare. The role also involves handling outpatient and inpatient cases, supervising junior staff, and contributing to the hospital’s mission of sustainable healthcare delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine patients, review medical histories, and request/interpret diagnostic tests.
- Provide accurate diagnoses and prescribe appropriate treatments.
- Deliver preventive care and health education to patients and families.
- Refer patients to specialists and coordinate care with other professionals.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, interns, and clinical officers.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with hospital policies.
- Participate in clinical meetings, audits, and research activities.
- Provide emergency medical care and on-call duties when required.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from a recognized university.
- Completed a one-year internship in a recognized facility.
- Valid license to practice from the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT).
- At least 2–3 years post-internship experience in a hospital/clinical setting.
- Strong diagnostic, clinical decision-making, and emergency management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and mentoring abilities.
2. Medical Attendant – 4 Positions
Reporting to: Nursing Officer In-Charge
Duty Station: Survival Hospital, Kyerwa
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist doctors and nurses in patient care.
- Maintain cleanliness of wards, beds, and medical equipment.
- Support patients with mobility, feeding, bathing, and other daily needs.
- Ensure proper waste management and infection prevention.
- Perform additional tasks assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Certificate in Medical Attendant/Nursing Attendant from a recognized institution.
- At least 2–3 years of hospital/healthcare experience.
- Knowledge of infection control and patient handling techniques.
- Compassion, patience, and the ability to work independently.
3. Cashier – 4 Positions
Reporting to: Accountant
Duty Station: Survival Hospital, Kyerwa
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive patient payments and issue receipts.
- Prepare daily cash reports and maintain accurate records.
- Post transactions into accounting systems.
- Handle petty cash and ensure accountability.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Diploma/Certificate in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience as a cashier or finance role (hospital experience is an added advantage).
- Strong numerical, analytical, and computer skills (Excel & accounting software).
- High integrity, accuracy, and customer service skills.
4. Secretary – 3 Positions
Reporting to: Medical Director
Duty Station: Survival Hospital, Kyerwa
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage correspondence, memos, and reports.
- Organize meetings, prepare agendas, and maintain office calendars.
- Answer calls, welcome visitors, and manage communications.
- Maintain proper records and filing systems.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Certificate/Diploma in Secretarial Studies or Office Administration.
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ secretarial/administrative experience (hospital setting is a plus).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational, communication, and confidentiality skills.
