Purpose of the Role
The Human Resource Officer will provide professional support to employees, supervisors, and managers across various HR functions. The role ensures compliance with both internal company policies and external labor regulations while maintaining accurate employee records and overseeing HR-related processes.
Key Responsibilities
Functional Duties
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment processes: advertising, screening, interviewing, onboarding, and placement.
- Maintain and update employee records in HR systems and files.
- Draft and manage contracts, offer letters, and other employment-related documents.
- Handle employee exit procedures, including final dues, clearance forms, and exit interviews.
- Facilitate staff transfers and ensure accurate documentation and settlement.
- Register employees with statutory authorities (NSSF, NHIF, WCF, HESLB) and ensure monthly compliance.
- Promote workplace health and safety compliance (OSHA) through assessments, training, and safety meetings.
- Monitor staff attendance, working hours, and overtime records, ensuring adherence to regulations.
- Manage leave applications and payroll data (absences, bonuses, overtime, allowances).
- Support disciplinary procedures and compliance with Tanzanian labor laws.
- Conduct orientation for new employees.
- Prepare HR reports on recruitment, training, performance evaluations, payroll, and grievances.
- Coordinate HR-led company activities such as surveys, meetings, and culture-building initiatives.
- Liaise with government agencies, recruitment partners, and legal representatives on employment matters.
Minimum Requirements
Academic & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
Experience
- No prior work experience required (fresh graduates are encouraged to apply).
Skills & Competencies
- Basic knowledge of HR practices and Tanzanian labor law.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- IT literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to write basic HR reports.
- Detail-oriented, accountable, and resilient under pressure.

- External: Recruitment agencies, employers’ associations, and government authorities (OSHA, NSSF, NHIF, WCF, etc.).
