About the Position
The Financial Accountant will play a key role in ensuring smooth financial operations at WINBILL Supermarket. From managing cash flow to preparing financial reports and ensuring compliance with government regulations, this position requires a highly skilled professional with strong attention to detail and leadership abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cash & Treasury Management
- Handle payments to suppliers and receive end-of-shift cash from cashiers.
- Issue floats to cashiers and manage petty cash.
- Ensure timely supplier payments.
- Banking & Reconciliation
- Deposit daily sales into the bank promptly.
- Conduct periodic bank reconciliations and cash counts.
- Inventory & Stock Control
- Reconcile physical stock with system records.
- Monitor expired or defective products.
- Track raw material usage for bakery production and analyse output.
- Fixed Asset & Supplier Management
- Maintain a fixed asset register for company assets.
- Monitor supplier credit terms and manage supplier relationships.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with PAYE, WCF, NSSF, SDL, VAT, corporate tax, and supermarket/bakery-specific regulations.
- Financial Reporting & Auditing
- Post transactions accurately in accounting software.
- Prepare financial reports as required by directors.
- Support internal and external audits to achieve clean reports.
- Managerial Support
- Step in for the manager when needed, providing leadership and technical support to the shop floor team.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from a recognized institution.
- CPA certification is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience, preferably in retail or supermarket accounting.
- Must be flexible and ready to work long hours.
- Ability to start at short notice.
- Candidates residing in Kimara or Mbezi areas will be given preference.
