Purpose of the Position
The Accountants will play a vital role in supporting the finance department, head of accounts, and management by handling day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with all statutory requirements.
Key Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in finance and taxation
- Not more than 45 years of age
- Strong communication skills in English (written & spoken)
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and other computer applications
- Knowledge of IT will be an added advantage
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Job Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Preparing, examining, and analyzing payroll, financial statements, and other financial reports.
- Registering new employees with NSSF and preparing TRA, NSSF, WCF, and other statutory returns.
- Maintaining accurate records of creditors, debtors, and finance documentation.
- Calculating and revising provisional tax, assisting with audits, and maintaining finance files.
- Ensuring timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing.
- Conducting financial analysis to support decision-making.
- Preparing and analyzing budgets, management reports, and cost variances.
- Monitoring chargeable vs. non-chargeable time within the company.
- Updating accounts receivable/payable and analyzing debtors and creditors aging reports.
- Computing and filing tax returns to ensure compliance with statutory authorities.
- Managing statutory payments and returns accurately and on time.
