Key Responsibilities

As the Assistant Internal Audit Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing annual risk assessments and audit plans aligned with the company’s risk profile.
  • Planning, executing, and evaluating internal controls to ensure a complete audit cycle.
  • Conducting departmental, branch operations, special, and compliance audits.
  • Performing forensic audits and fraud investigations when required.
  • Identifying risks, trends, and irregularities in financial and operational data using data visualization tools.
  • Assessing operational effectiveness at branches and client sites through field control tests.
  • Preparing detailed, evidence-based audit and investigation reports for stakeholders.

Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA/ACCA, CIA, or CFE (full or part qualification) is required.
  • IT background will be an added advantage.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in auditing, fraud investigation, or forensics.
  • Experience in the microfinance industry will be a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have a clean professional record, with no involvement in fraud cases (discovered or undiscovered).
