The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology is thrilled to announce that the German International University (GIU) and the German University in Cairo (GUC) are offering fully funded scholarships for outstanding Tanzanian students in the 2025/2026 academic year. This golden opportunity is reserved for the nation’s best students—those who achieved Division I results in the 2025 ACSEE (NECTA) examinations. Successful candidates will gain access to world-class education in diverse fields, setting them on a path to excellence and leadership.

2. Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for these prestigious scholarships, applicants must:

  1. Be among the top Division I students in the 2025 ACSEE results (NECTA).
  2. Have studied relevant science, arts, or business subject combinations that align with their chosen program.
  3. Submit certified copies of academic certificates (originals required upon final acceptance).
  4. Pass the GUC/GIU admission tests, including aptitude or portfolio-based assessments for specialized fields.
  5. Demonstrate strong English proficiency (through a written test or interview if required).
  6. Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 (equivalent to “Good” in the German system) throughout the study program.

3. Program-Specific Requirements

  • Engineering & Technology (Media, Information, Informatics, Computer Science): Strong passes in Physics and Advanced Mathematics.
  • Engineering, Civil Engineering, Materials Science: Physics, Chemistry, and Advanced Mathematics.
  • Architecture, Design, Applied Sciences & Arts: Creativity, aptitude/portfolio test, plus Physics or Geography and Chemistry/Biology. Mathematics is an added advantage.
  • Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Engineering: Chemistry and Biology (Physics and Mathematics are an advantage).
  • Dentistry & Physical Therapy: Strong passes in Physics, Biology, and Chemistry.
  • Law & Legal Studies: Arts combinations such as History, English, and Geography/Economics.
  • Business, Management, Informatics: Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, or Arts with strong English skills.

4. Scholarship Coverage

This is a fully funded scholarship, covering:

  • Full tuition fees
  • International flight tickets
  • Accommodation
  • Transportation

Note: The Government of Tanzania will not provide additional loans or grants to scholarship recipients.

5. Application Procedure

Interested candidates must:

  1. Submit a formal letter of application along with certified copies of academic certificates.
  2. Send applications via email to ps@moe.go.tz and dhe@moe.go.tz.
  3. Ensure applications are submitted no later than 1st October 2025.

Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
