Open Positions at NAFAKA KILIMO
1. Business Development Officers – (3 Positions)
Locations:
- Morogoro Urban & Morogoro Rural (1)
- Gairo DC & Kilosa DC (1)
- Chemba DC & Kondoa DC (1)
Role Overview:
The Business Development Officer (BDO) will identify, mentor, and link youth-led farmer service centers (FSCs) to markets, financial institutions, and agribusiness service providers. The goal is to create employment opportunities, promote youth and women in agribusiness, and strengthen last-mile delivery of agricultural services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Profile and onboard youth-led FSCs (MSMEs, farmer groups, lead farmers, AMCOS, VBAAs).
- Conduct business capacity needs assessments and prepare reports.
- Facilitate entrepreneurship training, mentorship, and coaching.
- Support access to markets, finance, mechanization, and regulatory compliance.
- Strengthen women and youth participation in agribusiness.
- Enhance value addition through agro-processing and produce standardization.
- Conduct financial literacy training and promote integration of VSLA/VICOBA into formal finance.
- Facilitate farmer–buyer linkages and collective marketing strategies.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, plus success stories.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Agronomy, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with smallholder farmers, especially youth and women.
- Strong knowledge of cereals, sunflower, horticulture, and poultry production.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and writing skills.
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili; computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Zoom/Google Meet).
2. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Specialist – (1 Position)
Role Overview:
The MEL Specialist will lead all monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and NAFAKA KILIMO’s MEL plan. This role is key to tracking project outcomes, conducting assessments, and guiding adaptive management for impact-driven results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and update project MEL plans, results frameworks, and indicators.
- Conduct baseline studies, surveys, and impact assessments.
- Facilitate learning events and adaptive management workshops.
- Ensure donor compliance in performance reporting.
- Build strong collaborations with WFP, donors, government, and private sector partners.
- Train project teams and partners in MEL tools and data collection.
- Manage MEL systems and disseminate findings across stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Economics, Statistics, Social Sciences, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ MEL experience in international development programs.
- Strong skills in data collection, statistical analysis (SPSS, Access, Excel, Power BI, ODK).
- Knowledge of WFP rules, MEL guidance, and donor compliance requirements.
- Experience integrating youth and women in development projects.
- Strong organizational, communication, and report writing skills.
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili.
