About UONGOZI Institute

Founded in 2010 through a partnership between the Governments of Tanzania and Finland, the Institute of African Leadership for Sustainable Development (UONGOZI Institute) is committed to inspiring and equipping African leaders with the knowledge, skills, and tools to drive inclusive, accountable, and sustainable growth across the continent.

Internship Opportunities – October 2025

UONGOZI Institute is inviting qualified graduates to apply for internship placements in the following departments:

1. Finance Intern

  • Department: Corporate Services
  • Reports to: Senior Accountant
  • Key Role: Assist in daily finance and accounting operations, data entry, and financial reporting.

2. Research Intern

  • Department: Research and Policy Analysis
  • Reports to: Senior Researcher
  • Key Role: Support coordination of research and policy activities, manage data, and assist in maintaining the Institute’s Resource Centre.

3. Procurement Intern

  • Unit: Procurement Management
  • Reports to: Senior Procurement and Supplies Officer
  • Key Role: Assist in executing procurement plans, tendering, logistics coordination, and inventory management.

Duration and Work Schedule

  • Internship Period: Up to one (1) year, depending on performance and institutional needs.
  • Some assignments may include official travel within Tanzania.

General Requirements

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and internet research tools.
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Swahili.
  • Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous volunteering experience is an added advantage.
