Position: Accounts Clerk – Administration Section

Location: Dar es Salaam
Employment Type: Full-time, Fixed-Term (2 years, renewable)
Department: Administration Section
Starting Salary: TZS 3,271,902 (subject to experience)

The European Union Delegation is seeking a skilled and motivated Accounts Clerk to support its Administration Section. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Head of Administration (HoA), providing essential assistance in accounting and financial management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage budget execution and maintain account structures.
  • Process accounting transactions using ABAC, CitiBank, and Budgdel systems.
  • Reconcile outstanding transactions, including HB lines.
  • Supervise payments and monitor bank statements.
  • Collaborate with authorising officers and central financial services.
  • Participate in year-end financial activities.
  • Track unexecuted bank transactions and ensure compliance.
  • Generate monthly financial and contractor reports.
  • Assist with mid-year budget reviews and reports.
  • Follow evolving financial regulations and maintain accounting accuracy.
  • Prepare documents for verification and official signatures.
  • Undertake other administrative duties as assigned.

Eligibility Criteria

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent BA-level professional accounting diploma.
  • Fluent in English and Kiswahili (written and spoken).
  • Strong computer and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
  • Proficiency in financial systems such as ABAC (can be acquired).
  • Solid understanding of administrative and financial regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver within deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
