About Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL)

Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL) is a government-owned airline, established under the Companies Act (CAP 212) of 2002 after the dissolution of the former Air Tanzania Corporation (ATC). The airline plays a key role in connecting Tanzania with regional and international destinations.

Currently, ATCL is implementing its 5-Year Corporate Strategic Plan (2022/23–2026/27), which focuses on strengthening its fleet, improving operational efficiency, and delivering safe, reliable, and world-class services. To achieve these goals, ATCL is seeking qualified candidates for the following positions, Available Job Vacancies

1. Captain B767/B787/B737/A220/Q400/Q300 (23 Posts)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3500+ flying hours with a valid ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License).
  • At least 1000 hours as Pilot in Command on aircraft equipment above 20 tons.
  • Valid Class One medical certificate.
  • Type rating on B767/B787/B737/A220/Q400/Q300.
  • ICAO English Proficiency Level 4 or higher.
  • Non-Tanzanians are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Command aircraft operations ensuring safety and passenger comfort.
  • Verify flight plans, NOTAMs, weather updates, and documentation.
  • Supervise loading, diplomatic mail, and valuable cargo.
  • Report incidents, delays, and ensure compliance with aviation standards.

2. First Officer (45 Posts)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 250+ flying hours with a valid CPL (Commercial Pilot License).
  • Multi-engine and Instrument Rating.
  • Valid Class One medical certificate.
  • ICAO English Proficiency Level 4 or above.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in safe flight operations.
  • Ensure compliance with ATCL flight procedures.
  • Support the Captain in flight planning, reporting, and communication.

3. Cabin Crew – French Speaking (10 Posts)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Form IV Certificate with four credit passes including English.
  • Ab-Initio Certificate from a recognized aviation institution.
  • TCAA Cabin Crew Member Certificate.
  • French language certificate (Intermediate B2).
  • Arm reach of 212 cm, acceptable BMI, and no visible tattoos.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure passenger safety, security, and comfort.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and resolve passenger concerns.
  • Support world-class cabin service and on-time performance.

4. Cabin Crew – Chinese Speaking (10 Posts)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Same requirements as above, with an additional Chinese Language Certificate (HSK4/Intermediate B2).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional service to Chinese-speaking passengers.
  • Ensure cabin safety and regulatory compliance.

5. Cabin Crew (80 Posts)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Form IV Certificate with four credit passes including English.
  • Ab-Initio Certificate and TCAA Cabin Crew Member Certificate.
  • Fluency in English and Swahili (knowledge of an extra international language is an advantage).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain passenger welfare, safety, and service quality.
  • Handle cabin operations in line with ATCL procedures.

6. Accountant I – Cost Accounting (1 Post)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related fields.
  • Professional certifications (CPA(T), ACCA, ACA, or CIMA).
  • At least four years’ work experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare revenue accounts, reconcile bank statements, and maintain cashbooks.
  • Record financial transactions and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

7. Ramp Assistant II (4 Posts)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certificate of Secondary Education plus an aviation-related certificate.
  • Knowledge of airport ground support facilities is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle aircraft turnaround operations.
  • Coordinate ground support, baggage, and cargo loading.
  • Assist with emergency and delay management.

Terms and Conditions

  • Ten (10) year contract for Tanzanian applicants.
