We are hiring a Volunteer Program Coordinator (VPC) and a Volunteer Engagement Mentor (VEM) to support our international volunteer program across 15 sites in 10 districts in Morogoro, Iringa, Njombe, and Mbeya Regions. The VPC will oversee volunteer coordination, field mentorship, and community engagement. The VEM will provide direct support and supervision to volunteers throughout their placements. 1. Volunteer Program Coordinator (VPC) – 1 Position

Location: Iringa
Contract Type: One-year contract (renewable based on funding)
Age Requirement: 25 – 40 years

Key Responsibilities:

  • Volunteer Management: Oversee recruitment, orientation, onboarding, and performance monitoring of international volunteers.
  • Coordination with Field Mentors: Supervise field mentors, provide training, and ensure effective volunteer mentorship.
  • Placement Site Coordination: Establish strong relationships with local host organizations and act as a mediator.
  • Logistics & Operations: Organize accommodations, transport, safety, and emergency protocols.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain detailed records, gather feedback, and submit periodic reports.
  • Cross-Cultural Support: Facilitate cultural exchanges and ensure ethical volunteering practices.
  • Program Development: Identify improvement opportunities and assist with fundraising and training efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Community Development, International Relations, Mass Communication, or related fields. AlamaYangu Volunteer Opportunities Tanzania 2025
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in volunteer coordination or community development.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English and Swahili (spoken and written).
  • Willingness to travel frequently within project regions.

2. Volunteer Engagement Mentors (VEM) – 15 Positions

Locations: Iringa, Morogoro, Njombe, and Mbeya
Contract Type: Five-month contract
Age Requirement: 25 – 35 years

Key Responsibilities:

  • Volunteer Support & Mentorship: Provide daily guidance and emotional support to volunteers.
  • Orientation & Training: Conduct on-site orientation and training sessions.
  • Coordination & Communication: Act as a bridge between volunteers, local communities, and the VPC.
  • Community Engagement: Strengthen relationships between volunteers and community stakeholders.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Track volunteer activities, challenges, and successes; submit reports.
  • Logistics & Welfare: Assist with transportation, housing, safety, and cultural adaptation.
  • Program Improvement: Suggest enhancements based on volunteer feedback and community needs.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Community Development, Education, Mass Communication, or related fields.
  • Experience in mentoring, volunteer management, or community work.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fluent in both English and Swahili.
  • Familiarity with the local cultures of Morogoro, Iringa, Njombe, or Mbeya is an added advantage.
