Job Summary
The Assistant Technician will support laboratory operations within the GST’s Mineral Laboratory. Key responsibilities include assisting with sample preparation, conducting chemical analyses, and supporting petrography and mineralogical research activities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Assisting in the preparation of reagents and laboratory apparatus for analytical tasks.
- Receiving and logging samples from the geology department, small-scale miners, and mining companies.
- Supporting the performance of fire assay, base metals, and major/trace element analyses.
- Assisting in water analysis procedures.
- Preparing geological samples for chemical analysis, petrography, and mineral processing studies.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidates will be employed under salary scale GSTS 2, as per GST regulations.
