AzamTV is on the frontline of sports and entertainment broadcasting across Africa, and we’re searching for an experienced Broadcast Engineer to drive the technical excellence behind our outdoor broadcast (OB) operations. This is a rare opportunity to play a crucial role in delivering flawless live broadcasts—especially football—to millions of viewers.
Key Responsibilities
As a Broadcast Engineer at Azam Media Limited, you will:
- Set up, operate, and maintain OB (Outside Broadcast) transmission systems.
- Design and implement transmission solutions for live, large-scale, and multi-camera productions—with a strong focus on football coverage.
- Handle and maintain essential broadcast equipment including VSAT systems, encoders, modulators, and amplifiers.
- Configure and troubleshoot video and audio routing systems to ensure seamless signal flow.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory broadcast guidelines.
- Perform routine diagnostics, maintenance, and upgrades on OB van equipment.
- Provide on-the-job technical training to production crew members when required.
- Collaborate with fellow engineers and production staff to optimize technical workflows.
- Maintain accurate equipment logs and technical documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
We’re looking for someone with:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related engineering field from a recognized university.
- Professional broadcasting certifications (advantageous but not mandatory).
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with OB vans—preferably setups involving 10+ cameras.
- Expertise in live sports broadcasting, particularly football.
- Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting video/audio routers, replay machines, and audio mixers.
- A solid understanding of broadcast standards, technologies, and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under high-pressure, live conditions.
- A collaborative attitude with strong communication skills.
