The Bakhresa Group, a renowned name in Tanzania’s FMCG and sports industries, is hiring a Legal Manager to serve as the primary in-house counsel. You’ll advise top leadership, ensure legal compliance across multiple sectors, and play a pivotal role in both protecting and propelling the business forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial, employment, and sports-related contracts.
- Ensure full compliance with Tanzanian laws, including corporate, food safety, labor, and international sports regulations (TFF, CAF, FIFA).
- Provide clear and actionable legal advice to executive teams and stakeholders.
- Oversee and manage all legal disputes, litigation, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Safeguard intellectual property, particularly around brand and club identity for Azam FC.
- Conduct internal legal trainings on compliance, risk, and contract management.
- Offer legal support for recruitment, employment contracts, and HR compliance.

What We’re Looking For
- LL.B from an accredited institution (LL.M or PGD in Legal Practice is a bonus).
- Admitted Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of legal experience, with a strong preference for in-house counsel roles.
- Deep knowledge of Tanzanian commercial, corporate, and regulatory law.
- Industry experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or sports/entertainment is highly desirable.
- Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and bilingual communication skills (English and Swahili).
- High integrity, professional independence, and solid business judgment.
