About Benjamin Mkapa Hospital (BMH)

Established under Government Notice No. 453 of 2015, Benjamin Mkapa Hospital officially opened on 16th October 2015 as a tertiary referral hospital. Its mission is to deliver advanced healthcare services in Tanzania and beyond through high-tech diagnostic equipment, specialized treatment, and skilled professionals. With a 400-bed capacity, the hospital serves both inpatients and outpatients locally and internationally. Services include:

  • Emergency Medicine
  • Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
  • Imaging (MRI, CT Scan, Mammography, X-ray, Ultrasound, Angiography, Cath-lab)
  • Laboratory and Surgical Services

To strengthen its workforce and improve operational efficiency, BMH invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for the following positions (contract terms): Available Job Vacancies

1. Launder II – 2 Posts

Duties: Sorting, washing, drying, ironing clothes, and maintaining laundry equipment. Qualifications: Form IV/VI Certificate with basic laundry training and ability to use laundry machines. Remuneration: Attractive package as per hospital scheme of service.

2. Assistant Accounts Officers II – 2 Posts

Duties: Handling cash deposits/payments, maintaining records, preparing petty cash vouchers, reconciling balances, and ensuring proper documentation. Qualifications: Diploma in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration/Commerce (majoring in Accountancy/Finance), or ATEC II (NBAA). Remuneration: Attractive package as per hospital scheme of service.

3. Health Assistants II – 1 Post

Duties: Cleaning wards, assisting bedridden patients, feeding patients, sending samples for tests, and supporting daily ward activities. Qualifications: Form IV/VI Certificate plus one-year certificate in a health-related field. Priority for those trained as Basic Mortuary Technicians. Remuneration: Attractive package as per hospital scheme of service.

Duties: Handling legal documents, compiling evidence for court cases, reviewing contracts, and representing BMH in court/CMA proceedings. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB), Law School of Tanzania certification, and at least 4 years of relevant experience. Remuneration: Attractive package as per hospital scheme of service.

5. Records Management Assistants II – 5 Posts

Duties: Receiving, registering, filing, tracing, and dispatching records and documents. Qualifications: Form IV/VI Certificate plus Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Records Management, Archives, or related field. Remuneration: Attractive package as per hospital scheme of service.

6. Pharmaceutical Technician II – 4 Posts

Duties: Dispensing drugs, compounding medicines, educating patients, keeping records, and ensuring proper stock management.
Qualifications: Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institution and licensed by the Pharmacy Council.
Remuneration: Attractive package as per hospital scheme of service.

7. Health Laboratory Scientists II – 2 Posts

Duties: Conducting lab tests (Hematology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Histopathology, etc.), maintaining equipment, and supporting research. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Laboratory Technology or related field, completion of internship, and registration with the Health Laboratory Practitioners Council. Remuneration: Attractive package as per hospital scheme of service.

8. Medical Officers II – 6 Posts

Duties: Attending patients, handling emergencies, conducting investigations, assisting in surgeries, supervising students, and participating in outreach programs. Qualifications: Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree, completed internship, and registration with the Medical Council of Tanganyika. Remuneration: Attractive package as per hospital scheme of service.

9. Assistant Nursing Officers II – 10 Posts

Duties: Providing nursing care, administering treatment, educating patients, counseling, and conducting ward rounds. Qualifications: Diploma in Nursing, Midwifery, or equivalent. Must be licensed by the Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council. Remuneration: Attractive package as per hospital scheme of service.

10. Medical Specialists II (Radiologist) – 1 Post (Contract Terms)

Duties: Providing radiological services, supervising ward rounds, training students, participating in research, and offering medical legal advice. Qualifications: Master of Medicine (M.Med) in Radiology plus Doctor of Medicine Degree. Must be registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika. Remuneration: Attractive package as per hospital scheme of service.
