As part of its growth and strategic direction, BMF is now seeking applications for the position of:

Position: Director of Programs and Strategic Information

  • Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
  • Supervises: Six (6) staff members
  • Department: Programs and Strategic Information
  • Duty Station: Head Office, Dar es Salaam

Purpose of the Role

The Director of Programs and Strategic Information will provide strategic leadership in designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating BMF’s programs. This role is central to aligning projects with the foundation’s 2024–2030 Strategic Business Plan, ensuring impactful delivery while advancing innovation, research, knowledge management, and partnerships.

The position also supports the CEO in developing cutting-edge solutions that drive growth and enhance BMF’s visibility nationally, regionally, and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership

  • Lead the design and execution of short- and long-term strategic plans.
  • Translate institutional goals into actionable program targets.
  • Monitor the implementation of the BMF Strategic Business Plan (2024–2030).
  • Align departmental strategies to enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness.

2. Program Planning and Implementation

  • Guide program managers in preparing and reviewing budgets.
  • Oversee project integration for effective execution.
  • Manage risks within the program portfolio.
  • Strengthen partnerships with donors, sub-grantees, and technical experts.

3. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Research

  • Lead BMF’s monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems.
  • Oversee institutional data management tools for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Build organizational capacity in results-based M&E.
  • Partner with research institutions to promote evidence-based practices and publications.

4. Knowledge Management and Learning

  • Develop and manage robust knowledge-sharing systems.
  • Ensure evidence-based findings inform policy and practice.
  • Represent BMF at national, regional, and international forums.

5. Business Development Support

  • Collaborate with the Business Development Unit to secure resources.
  • Foster partnerships with governments, donors, and stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support for proposal development.

6. Digital Health and ICT Innovation

  • Oversee BMF’s digital health strategy.
  • Guide adoption of innovative digital solutions in health programs.
  • Strengthen ICT systems for data collection, reporting, and analysis.

7. Leadership and Team Development

  • Inspire and mentor a motivated, accountable, and high-performing team.
  • Drive continuous professional growth and organizational alignment.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or related field.
  • 10+ years of professional experience, with at least 5–7 years in senior leadership.
  • Proven expertise in strategic program management and organizational operations.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in project design, implementation, and evaluation.
