Job Title: Revenue Collector

Location: Chemba District Council
Employment Type: 6-month contract (August 2025 – January 2026)

Payment Structure: Earn 5% commission on total revenue collected and deposited on time

Minimum Qualifications Required:

To be eligible for this role, applicants must meet the following conditions:

  1. Be a Tanzanian citizen.
  2. Aged 18 years or older.
  3. Have completed at least primary school education (Standard 7) or higher.
  4. Be a permanent resident of Chemba District.
  5. Provide a guarantor (spouse, parent, or anyone with immovable property like land or a house).
  6. Have no criminal record or history of being convicted in any court.
  7. Be willing to work anywhere within Chemba District.
  8. Applicants previously responsible for financial loss or mismanagement in the Council are NOT eligible.
  9. Must possess a valid NIDA number, required during registration.

Application Instructions:

  • Submit your application letter through your Village or Ward Executive Officer.
  • Attach recent passport-size photographs of both the applicant and the guarantor.

Key Responsibilities of the Revenue Collector:

  • Collect revenue from various local sources using Electronic Payment Systems (POS machines).
  • Deposit all collections into the Council’s revenue account promptly, either on the same workday or the next working day after a weekend or public holiday.
  • Issue electronic receipts equivalent to the received payments.
  • Properly maintain revenue collection equipment and banking documents.
  • Prepare and submit daily revenue reports from the POS machine.
  • Present the POS machine for audit or inspection when required.
  • Perform other revenue-related duties as assigned by the employer.

Contract Terms:

  • The initial contract will run from August 2025 to January 2026.
  • Supervision will be provided by the respective Village and Ward Executives.
  • Contract renewal will depend on performance in revenue collection.
