What You’ll Be Doing

As a Commercial Officer, you’ll be a key player in advancing Denmark’s commercial and development interests in Tanzania. Your role will focus on promoting sustainable trade and investment, with a particular emphasis on green sectors like water, energy, agriculture, and environmental innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer tailored consultancy to Danish companies on Tanzanian market opportunities (e.g. market research, partner identification, stakeholder mapping).
  • Drive new business development, especially in water, energy, environment, and agriculture sectors.
  • Establish and maintain strategic networks with local stakeholders to facilitate partnerships.
  • Plan and manage trade delegations, business forums, and promotional events.
  • Act as the focal point for development programmes, ensuring synergy between commercial and development efforts.
  • Contribute to reports, briefings, and talking points on climate, energy, agriculture, and water issues in Tanzania.
  • Collaborate with both government and private sector players in Denmark and Tanzania.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

To thrive in this role, you’ll need both strong business acumen and a collaborative spirit:

Education:

  • A degree in Business Administration, International Marketing, Economics, or a related field.

Experience & Skills:

  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Solid track record in international business or working with development programmes.
  • Experience working with high-level stakeholders in both private and public sectors.
  • Strong project management skills, particularly in green or sustainable development sectors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • A proactive, adaptable mindset with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Strong understanding of the Tanzanian business landscape.
