The Driver S1 role is an integral part of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) operations, providing vital transportation services and logistical support to the Commission’s staff and official visitors.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport British High Commission staff and authorized passengers to meetings, field visits, and official functions across Tanzania.
- Deliver and collect official items, including letters, invitations, and packages.
- Maintain the vehicle’s cleanliness and perform basic maintenance such as refueling and minor repairs.
- Monitor travel safety conditions and use defensive driving techniques to protect passengers.
- Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Support logistical tasks during events and dignitary visits.
- Serve as the Dodoma office’s First Aider and Deputy Health and Safety Officer.
- Maintain accurate logs of all trips and official movements.
What You Need to Succeed
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Proficiency in both English and Swahili.
- Valid Driving Certificate.
- At least 3 years’ experience as a driver in a professional or organizational setting (government, NGO, or private sector).
- Solid knowledge of city roads, key government offices, and national routes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Proven customer service skills.
