General Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for this Ministry of Higher Education scholarship, applicants must:

Be a Tanzanian citizen.
Be a Muslim (mandatory for Al-Azhar applicants).
Not be enrolled in any other scholarship, inside or outside Egypt.
Be physically and psychologically healthy, and free from any infectious or chronic disease.
Ensure all documents are translated and certified as per the instructions, bearing the necessary seals from both Tanzania and the Egyptian Embassy.

Note: Al-Azhar programs are in Arabic. Students wishing to study in English or French must cover additional expenses.

Required Documents

Applicants must prepare and submit the following certified documents:

Certificate of Secondary Education, certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, and the Egyptian Embassy.
Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSE), similarly certified.
Certified university degree and transcripts (for postgraduate applicants).
Certified birth certificate.
Six (6) recent passport-size photos with the applicant’s name on the back.
Valid passport copy.
Certified medical certificate confirming the applicant is free from HIV, Hepatitis, and Tuberculosis.
A statement that the high school diploma qualifies the applicant for university-level education.

All documents must be in Arabic, English, or French, or translated into one of these languages.
