Internship Overview
As an intern at the UNIDO Field Office in Tanzania, you’ll work under the supervision of the UNIDO Representative and gain hands-on exposure to development projects, research, and coordination activities that support economic growth and industrialization in East Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in Development Partner Working Groups on private sector development, agriculture, and environmental projects.
- Conduct research and compile economic and value chain reports (e.g., cotton, dairy, edible oils, fisheries, agroecology).
- Support the formulation of project proposals with UNIDO staff and external partners.
- Collect and analyze data for the UN system to support development programs.
- Assist with coordination activities and contribute to field office reports and strategies.
Eligibility Requirements
Education:
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics, business, or environmental studies from an accredited university.
Language Proficiency:
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is required.
- Knowledge of another UN language (French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish) is an asset.
