This is a senior leadership position reporting directly to the Managing Director/CEO. The role will be based at the company’s headquarters in Dar es Salaam. The General Manager will play a pivotal role in managing cross-functional teams, streamlining processes, and ensuring business performance aligns with company goals.

Key Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day business functions, including production, logistics, marketing, finance, and administration. A core focus will be on optimizing operations, improving efficiency, and ensuring timely product distribution.
- Night production supervision and strict adherence to loading and delivery systems are also essential aspects of this role. The General Manager will be expected to lead the implementation of ISO systems and maintain high standards of quality assurance.
- Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for preparing regular performance reports, financial forecasts, and strategic reviews for the executive leadership team. The role also involves spearheading marketing initiatives, overseeing brand management, and fostering effective collaboration between departments.
Qualifications and Experience
- The ideal candidate will first and foremost have a proven track record in a senior management position within the manufacturing or food processing sector. In addition, experience in managing large teams, factory operations, and supply chain systems is essential.
- Moreover, a deep understanding of ISO certification processes and quality management systems is required. The candidate should also possess strong strategic planning skills and demonstrate financial acumen to align operations with broader business goals.
- Furthermore, excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills are vital. Above all, the ability to motivate staff and promote a culture of continuous improvement is critical for success in this role.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Performance will be evaluated based on several key metrics. These include achievement of revenue and profit targets, operational efficiency, and adherence to safety and regulatory compliance standards.
Other performance indicators include customer satisfaction, market growth, and the overall effectiveness of the leadership provided to staff. Developing internal talent and maintaining a productive work environment will also be important success factors.
