Role Overview: Men’s Goodwill Project Facilitator
Global Volunteers is seeking passionate and skilled individuals to lead this exciting mental wellness project in Ukwega Ward, Kilolo District – Iringa Region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a pilot project framework alongside IGC physicians using the Bandebereho Facilitators Manual.
- Collaborate with RCP Caregivers and GBV Interns to identify participants.
- Draft project descriptions, participation criteria, expected outcomes, and success measurements.
- Meet potential men’s group candidates and collect input for effective engagement.
- Design and plan Goodwill group guidelines, meeting timelines, topics, and community events.
- Develop educational materials for schools focused on boys’ and men’s self-awareness, gender roles, and GBV prevention.
- Engage short-term volunteers in awareness and education activities.
- Attend community meetings to promote the Men’s Goodwill Project.
- Expand the project to other villages once the pilot phase achieves its success targets.
Qualifications and Requirements
Professional Background:
- Coursework in Social Work or Psychology.
- Prior experience working with vulnerable populations is highly desirable.
- Men are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Willingness to live and work in a village environment for a one-year contract (renewable upon mutual agreement).
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong communication skills in spoken and written English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently.
- Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and respect for local traditions.
- Confidence and comfort in engaging with men of all ages.
