Role Summary
The Graduate Associate Internship offers a unique opportunity for recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in government advisory and public sector delivery. Based in Zanzibar, interns will directly contribute to TBI’s work in supporting the Government on high-priority development initiatives.
This internship combines professional development with meaningful project work, offering exposure to strategy, research, implementation tracking, and stakeholder engagement. Interns will be mentored by experienced team members and immersed in impactful public service efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Under the guidance of senior staff, you will:
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research, policy analysis, and synthesize information for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, briefing materials, and dashboards.
- Contribute to the design and monitoring of implementation plans and delivery routines (e.g., stocktakes, progress reviews).
- Support stakeholder coordination efforts including meeting logistics, note-taking, and follow-up.
- Capture lessons learned and success stories for internal knowledge sharing.
- Participate in internal team updates and project reflections.

Qualifications & Experience
- Recent graduate (within the last 12 months) or final-year student in Public Policy, Economics, Political Science, International Development, Engineering, or related fields.
- Strong academic track record.
- Interest in public service, consulting, policy, or international development.
- Prior experience in research or problem-solving is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication skills—written and verbal.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
