About Hand in Hand Eastern Africa – Tanzania
Hand in Hand Eastern Africa – Tanzania (HIHEA TZ) is a registered non-governmental organization operating since 2018 and part of the global Hand in Hand network. The organization is committed to reducing poverty and vulnerability through sustainable enterprise and job creation—especially for women and marginalized communities.
HIHEA TZ works across six regions in Tanzania—Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Manyara, Singida, Dodoma, and Simiyu—employing a unique self-help model that focuses on equipping individuals with the skills, knowledge, and resources to lift themselves out of poverty.
Position: Business Relationship Trainee (8 Posts)

Key Responsibilities
As a Business Relationship Trainee, you will be at the forefront of community engagement and program implementation. Your responsibilities will include:
- Promoting HIHEA TZ’s mission and activities within assigned communities.
- Identifying, mobilizing, and recruiting members into self-help groups in line with operational policies.
- Leading group formation processes and supporting the cohesion and sustainability of these groups.
- Conducting regular meetings and ensuring group members are actively engaged.
- Preparing and submitting daily, monthly, and annual reports.
- Liaising with local government bodies, NGOs, and other stakeholders for program synergy.
- Participating in monitoring, evaluation, and documentation of best practices and success stories.
- Ensuring all program activities comply with HIHEA TZ standards and procedures.
- Maintaining proper documentation and safeguarding organizational assets.
- Representing HIHEA TZ in local development forums and relevant stakeholder meetings.
Qualifications and Skills Required
To qualify for this exciting opportunity, applicants should meet the following requirements:
- A diploma or higher in Community Development, Social Sciences, Microfinance, Business Administration, Marketing, or related fields.
- At least two years’ experience in community development, social enterprise, or related areas.
- Strong understanding of rural and peri-urban development and financing.
- Passion for working with marginalized communities and promoting social change.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public relations skills.
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and meet deadlines.
- Strong teamwork and organizational skills.
- Computer literacy—proficiency in Microsoft Office is an added advantage.
- Willingness to work in any Tanzanian region based on program needs.
- Valid motorcycle riding license is an added advantage.
