We’re now searching for a Hub Director—a transformative leader who will shape our strategic direction, ensure sustainable growth, and empower the next generation of Tanzanian changemakers.
About the Role
Job Title: Hub Director
Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Salary: TSh 111,873,852 gross annually + 10% Housing Allowance
Contract Length: 2 years
Start Date: 1st October 2025
Reporting to: National Board of Directors
Direct Reports: Senior Finance & Admin Coordinator, Deputy Hub Director, SRH Manager, Programme & Partnership Officer, People & Performance Coordinator
Travel: Regular national travel and occasional international travel (2-3 weeks/year)
Eligibility: Open to Tanzanian nationals and eligible non-nationals with valid work status
Core Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute a compelling vision aligned with our national strategy.
- Strengthen the Hub’s profile as the go-to agency for youth-led change.
- Cultivate high-impact relationships with government, donors, and partners.
- Represent Restless Development Tanzania as a thought leader both nationally and globally.
2. Resource Mobilisation & Partnership Development
- Drive fundraising strategies and lead the development of winning proposals.
- Secure diverse and sustainable funding from local and international donors.
- Build and maintain high-value partnerships and donor networks.
- Ensure effective grant management and alignment with strategic goals.
3. Programme Impact & Innovation
- Oversee performance and quality across all programmes.
- Foster a culture of innovation, evidence-based learning, and impact storytelling.
- Champion high-impact initiatives that position Restless Development as a sector leader.
4. Financial Management
- Maintain financial sustainability through strong governance and oversight.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to optimize budgeting, reporting, and value for money.
5. People & Culture
- Lead a high-performing Leadership Team with empathy and ambition.
- Promote staff development, youth leadership, and inclusive performance management.
- Ensure effective recruitment, mentoring, and talent retention.
6. Governance & Compliance
- Serve as Secretary to the National Board of Directors and support governance reforms.
- Uphold Restless Development’s safeguarding standards and compliance policies.
7. Additional Duties
- Occasionally work outside normal hours, including weekends/public holidays (with time off in lieu provided).

Who We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications
- Deep commitment to youth-led development and social justice.
- Extensive experience in senior leadership roles within the development sector.
- Proven success in fundraising, programme management, and strategic planning.
- Experience with financial oversight, operations, and donor engagement.
- Strong understanding of Tanzanian and regional policy environments.
- Bilingual fluency in Swahili and English.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Attributes
- A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience working in Tanzania or similar socio-political contexts.
- Exposure to private sector engagement and distance management.
