As the 2025 General Election draws closer, Tanzania’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is calling on patriotic citizens to take part in one of the nation’s most important democratic events. In accordance with Section 6(6) of the Presidential, Parliamentary, and Councilors Elections Act No. 1 of 2024 and Regulation 10(1) of the 2025 Election Regulations, the Director of Elections invites applications from qualified Tanzanians to fill critical temporary roles that will ensure smooth, fair, and credible elections. Available Positions

  1. Polling Station Supervisors
  2. Assistant Polling Station Supervisors
  3. Voter Guidance Clerks

Qualifications

For Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors:

  • Must be a Tanzanian citizen
  • Aged 18 years or above
  • Not affiliated as a leader of any political party
  • Minimum of Form Four (O-Level) education or higher
  • Must be literate in Kiswahili or English
  • Able to read and understand the election instruction manual
  • Must be a resident of the ward they are applying to serve in

For Voter Guidance Clerks:

  • Tanzanian citizen aged 18 or older
  • Not a political party leader
  • Must be honest, obedient, and mentally fit
  • Minimum of Form Four education
  • Must be able to read and write in Kiswahili or English
  • Able to understand the Voter Clerk Guidelines Manual
  • Must also be a resident of the applying ward

Remuneration

Successful applicants will receive the following allowances:

On Election Day:

  • Polling Station Supervisor:
    • TZS 70,000 per day (2 days)
    • TZS 20,000 food allowance (1 day)
    • TZS 20,000 transport
  • Assistant Supervisor:
    • TZS 65,000 per day (2 days)
    • TZS 20,000 food allowance (1 day)
    • TZS 20,000 transport
  • Voter Guidance Clerk:
    • TZS 65,000 (1 day)
    • TZS 20,000 food allowance

During Training:

All selected applicants will receive:

  • Training allowance: TZS 50,000 per day
  • Transport allowance: TZS 20,000 per training day

General Application Requirements

Applicants must:

  1. Clearly state the ward and the position they are applying for
  2. Be willing to work at any polling station they are assigned
  3. Attach the following:
    • Copy of academic certificates
    • Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) with contact info and two guarantors (with their NIDA numbers)
    • Two recent passport-sized photos
    • Letter of introduction from their local government (mtaa/village executive)
  4. Public servants must route their application through their employer

Important: On the back of the envelope, clearly write the position you’re applying for. To simplify submission, applicants should submit sealed applications to the Assistant Electoral Supervisor at their ward level, who will forward them to the main Electoral Officer.
