1. Basic Requirements for Applicants
All candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a Tanzanian citizen.
- Possess a National ID or NIDA number issued by the National Identification Authority.
- Must not have been previously employed in the Government.
- Age:
- 18–24 years for Form IV graduates.
- 18–28 years for candidates with professional skills.
- Must have a Birth Certificate.
- Minimum height: 5’4” (162 cm) for women and 5’7” (170 cm) for men.
- Must be in good physical and mental health, certified by a Government Doctor.
- Must be single (never married) and without children.
- No tattoos or body markings.
- Must have good character, no criminal record, and no history of imprisonment.
- Must be ready to attend Prison Officers’ basic training and work anywhere in mainland Tanzania.
- Must be willing to cover personal costs during all recruitment stages until reporting for training.

3. How to Apply

Note: Applications sent through any other method will not be accepted.
4. Important Reminders
- Applicants who were previously expelled from the Prisons Service basic training course are not eligible to apply.
