The Kigoma-Ujiji Municipal Council has officially received authorization to hire new employees for the 2023/2024 financial year. With reference number FA.97/288/01/09 dated 25th June 2024 from the Permanent Secretary, President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance, the council now invites eligible and passionate applicants to apply for newly approved job positions.

Available Vacancy: Driver Grade II – 3 Positions

Key Responsibilities:

If you’re selected for this role, your duties will include:

  • Inspecting the vehicle before and after trips to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Transporting staff on official assignments.
  • Performing minor vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Collecting and delivering official documents.
  • Accurately recording all journeys in the vehicle logbook.
  • Keeping the vehicle clean and well-maintained.
  • Carrying out any other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have completed Form IV with a valid certificate.
  • Possession of a valid Class E or C driving license.
  • At least 1 year of accident-free driving experience.
  • Must have completed a Basic Driving Course from VETA or any other recognized institution by the government.
  • Must hold relevant vocational training certificates for the license class.

Salary Scale:

  • This position falls under the TGS B government salary scale.

General Application Requirements:

  • Must be a Tanzanian citizen aged between 18 and 45.

  • Provisional results, statement of results, or testimonials will not be accepted.
  • Applicants with foreign qualifications must have them verified by TCU, NECTA, or NACTE.
  • Retired public servants may not apply unless with special permission from the Chief Secretary.
  • Forgery or false information will result in legal action.
  • Those with name discrepancies across documents must provide a deed poll or affidavit as applicable.
  • The deadline for application submission is 14th August 2025.
