Key Responsibilities
- Lead and enforce a robust safety culture with risk assessments and safe work procedures
- Oversee manpower planning and daily performance
- Meet and exceed physical and metallurgical production targets
- Maintain high housekeeping standards and control spillage
- Maximize utilization of key plant equipment (Crusher, Grinding, Elution, CIL)
- Manage the Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) operations and water recovery
- Ensure timely reporting and operational sampling procedures

Qualifications
- Diploma in Mineral Processing
- FTC in Mineral Processing or equivalent is an added advantage
- Knowledge of the Mines Health & Safety Act
Required Experience
- At least 6 years of mining experience, with 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong technical understanding of plant operations and troubleshooting
- Skilled in safety systems, incident investigation, and operational reporting
- Proven ability to mentor, coach, and lead high-performing teams

Role Overview
As a Plant Metallurgist, you will play a pivotal role in driving efficiency and innovation within our processing plant, ensuring optimal performance across every stage of the metallurgical cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage technical calibration and metallurgical accounting
- Optimize plant performance through process control and mass balance
- Oversee sampling, analysis, and lab operations
- Coordinate shutdown activities and mill relining
- Evaluate risks and propose corrective actions
- Train and develop team members to ensure skill retention
- Prepare budgets and conduct data analysis using tools like Excel, PowerBI, and PI
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, or Chemical Engineering
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in gold and base metal processing
- Deep knowledge of gold smelting, metallurgical reconciliation, and lab workflows
Desired Skills & Experience
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Supervisory experience and leadership capabilities
- Effective communication skills in English (written & spoken)
- Sound understanding of safety practices and shutdown planning
- Knowledge of mining geology and hazardous material regulations
