Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a dedicated Tanzanian Mechanical Fitter / Technician with hands-on experience and a proactive mindset. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and eager to contribute to a high-performing maintenance team.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Required Certification: VETA (Vocational Education and Training Authority)
- Industry Experience: 4–5 years in the cement industry is mandatory
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct maintenance and repair work on key cement plant equipment:
- Crusher, Vertical Roller Mill (VRM), Kiln, Ball Mill, Packing Plant
- Troubleshoot and maintain:
- Compressors, bag filters, conveyor belts, and chain systems
- Execute both predictive and preventive maintenance
- Participate in shutdowns and major maintenance activities
- Select and install proper lubricants for machinery
- Ensure safety compliance in all maintenance and inspection tasks
- Create daily maintenance reports and liaise with department heads
- Manage spare parts availability for uninterrupted operations
- Train and mentor junior technicians
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere strictly to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures
- Ensure all activities align with Tanzanian legal and safety regulations
