Position: Medical Sales Supervisor (1 Post) – Dar es Salaam
Job Summary
Reporting to the Commercial Sales Manager, the Medical Sales Supervisor will oversee both primary and secondary sales within the commercial department. The role requires strong leadership, accountability, and effective coordination to ensure smooth product flow from Marie Stopes to distributors, wholesalers, and retailers.
This position is crucial in driving transparency, monitoring field activities, optimizing sales performance, and ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Primary Sales Oversight (Marie Stopes to Distributors)
- Monitor distributor purchase orders, invoicing, and timely delivery.
- Verify stock issuance and deliveries to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain a central sales dashboard to track sales by distributor, region, and product.
2. Secondary Sales Oversight (Distributors to Wholesalers/Retailers)
- Supervise sales representatives and ensure proper field distribution.
- Conduct spot-checks at retail outlets to verify product visibility and authenticity.
- Monitor route plans, outlet coverage, and sales rep performance.
3. Sales Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and integrated reporting for both primary and secondary sales.
- Provide weekly updates on sales performance and variances.
- Identify sales gaps or irregularities and recommend solutions.
4. Compliance & Quality Control
- Ensure products are stored and handled according to standards.
- Enforce adherence to internal protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Support training programs for distributors and sales representatives.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with logistics, monitoring, and evaluation teams.
- Facilitate distributor and sales rep performance reviews.
- Address and resolve field-level challenges affecting product flow.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Science, Public Health, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in medical/pharmaceutical sales supervision or field sales management.
- Strong experience with multi-tiered distribution models (primary and secondary sales).
- Background in NGOs or social marketing organizations is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, ERP systems, and data-driven sales reporting.
