1. Research Assistants (8 Positions)

Project: PPH (Postpartum Hemorrhage) Validation Study
Location: MUHAS, Dar es Salaam
Duration: 2 months
Reports to: Principal Investigator

About the Study:

Postpartum hemorrhage is among the top causes of maternal deaths in Tanzania. This study investigates current clinical practices in Dar es Salaam to improve maternal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to research protocols and ethical standards
  • Support clinicians in patient pathways and data collection
  • Attend and disseminate study-specific training
  • Maintain accurate and timely data reporting
  • Participate in site audits, supply management, and study meetings

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Nursing, Midwifery, or Medicine (MD)
  • Solid understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Excellent communication and data management skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Previous research experience is an added advantage

2. Project Manager (1 Position)

Project: GAIN (Genetic Associations of Infertility in Africa) Study
Location: MUHAS, Dar es Salaam

About the Study:

This multi-country research investigates genetic factors contributing to infertility, with a target of enrolling 1,500 couples across Tanzania, MUHAS 12 Vacancies June 2025.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee overall project implementation and stakeholder coordination
  • Develop and manage workplans, timelines, and budgets
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, ethical, and reporting standards
  • Liaise with clinical facilities and coordinate participant recruitment
  • Support audits, team meetings, and maintain detailed study records

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Implementation Science, or a related field (Postgraduate preferred)
  • At least 1 year of experience in project coordination
  • Familiarity with research ethics, GCP, and donor-funded projects
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

3. Study Medical Doctors (2 Positions)

Project: GAIN Study
Location: MUHAS, Dar es Salaam

Key Duties:

  • Recruit, assess, and enroll study participants
  • Conduct clinical assessments and ensure data accuracy
  • Liaise with partner clinics for efficient participant flow
  • Maintain follow-up and support for enrolled couples

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD), registered and licensed to practice
  • Passionate about Women’s Health
  • GCP training/certification preferred
  • Excellent clinical and communication skills
  • Experience with research and donor-funded projects is desirable

4. Project Coordinator (1 Position)

Project: PRIMA Study (Preventing Rheumatic Injury BioMarker Alliance)
Location: Babati, Manyara
Duration: 3 years

About the Study:

The PRIMA Study aims to identify molecular biomarkers for diagnosing Acute Rheumatic Fever (ARF) to prevent Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD). This global initiative includes six countries, including Tanzania.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily project operations and stakeholder coordination
  • Develop and monitor workplans and budgets
  • Implement M&E systems and generate high-quality reports
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and data integrity

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, or related fields (Master’s preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in health research/project coordination
  • Strong background in monitoring and evaluation
  • Proven ability to manage complex, interdisciplinary teams
