1.Boat/Ferry Operator Grade II (2 Posistions)
Job Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for the following duties:
- Fastening and unfastening boat/ferry mooring ropes.
- Ensuring safety of passengers and vehicles onboard.
- Organizing the boarding of passengers and vehicles onto the ferry.
- Navigating and operating the ferry safely and efficiently.
- Maintaining ferry travel logs and voyage documentation.
- Monitoring the engine’s condition and ensuring it’s fully operational.
- Checking fuel levels and maintaining essential ferry tools and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must have completed Form IV (O-Level) education.
- Must possess at least two years of formal training in boat/ferry operations from Dar es Salaam Marine Institute or another recognized maritime institution.
- Must have completed a six-month training course in:
- Water rescue and lifesaving
- Swimming
- Organizing people and vehicles on a boat or ferry
Salary Scale: TGOS A
